Facilities need improvement
The building is as described but the facilities need modernisation to bring them to 2026 standards. The building dates from 1974 and the owners are in their late 70s the same age as my husband and I. We travel frequently especially in ski areas. We spent 8 weeks in France in 2025 and rented 7 different apartments which were all more comfortable than this. The failings are not things noted in the description but made our stay unsatisfactory. I expect to have duvets on beds, a hairdryer and wifi available. The electric hob did not work, there were 6 notices all round describing what to do with items that did not work properly such as the lock on the front door and the toilet flush. You were told to only have showers as there wasn't enough hot water for baths. Two notices saying to only use the washing machine and dishwasher on off-peak electricity rates which meant staying up until after 23.00 to put them on. We were always out skiing during the afternoon off-peak times. I checked the cost of electricty in France and discovered that it is 21 cents peak rate and 17 cents off-peak. This is a saving of 4 cents per kilowatt hour and complete nonsense so we used appliances when convenient. There was a microwave but all the plates had gold trim so could not be used in it. There were 3 cupboards containing pans, dishes and bowls but there was nothing that would fit in the microwave as they were too large or made of metal. In general most of the kitchen ware was for large scale cooking and unsuitable for 2 to 4 people on holiday. The apartment could be really wonderful if the owners bought a few new things as listed, mended all the things that do not work proplerly and cleared out the large cooking items into the cave leaving a cupboard for guests to place their packets and jars of food that did not need a fridge. At present I cannot recomment this place and hope that the agency can discuss with the owners to make improvements.
